Dance Lab with Bernadette Divilly-Saturday 16th September 11am-3pm Terryland House.
An invitation to dancers, artists and community with an interest in language, landscape and the body, with focus on ancestry of place.
Following on from the successful winter solstice 2022 event, this collaborative lab will continue to use contemplative dance practices to explore influence, the influence of landscape on bodies and human languages.
The investigation will involve contemplation, deep explorations of the intelligence of our anatomy and the development of communication through play and effort.
This lab is supported by Bernadette Divilly’s current and ongoing research focusing on body, landscape and language enabled by the 2023/24 Arts Council Dance Artist in Residence (DAR) at Áras Éanna, with support from Galway Dance Project and Arts Council Dance Artist Bursary 2022 in partnership with Galway County Council Arts Office, Galway City Council Arts Office, Áras Éanna, the Inis Oírr Community and Galway Dance Project.
