Workshop with Aneta Dortová – 11 April 

As part of her Galway Dance ‘Síolta’ Residency, Aneta Dortová  will host a workshop in the Galway Dance studio on Thursday, 11 April. 

Workshop details:

When: 10-11:30am, Thursday, April 11
Where: Galway Dance Studio, #Unit 26 Terryland House, Headford Rd, Galway

This workshop will be focused on improvisation exercises based on Aneta’s percussive dance practice. The class will start with a warm-up followed by mobility exercises. We will learn a few sean-nós dance steps and break them down to understand them in fine detail. We will then do improvisation tasks focusing on accompanying music with simple footwork and tasks focusing on using footwork as a catalyst for all body movement. Please bring clean indoor sneakers/shoes that don’t stain floors. No tap or hard shoes.
