Síolta Residency Programme
Galway Dance invites you to apply for our Síolta Residency Programme 2026.
We are offering four individual residencies in our studio space nestled in the heart of Terryland, providing a central and secure environment for dance artists to explore and shape their creative visions.
Each two-week residency comes with an artists’ fee of €1500 and a €250 travel stipend* (*depending on home base location), allowing artists the flexibility to concentrate on their work. Residencies to be completed in the 2026 calendar year and do not have to be 2 consecutive weeks.
Síolta Residency Programme aims to seed new work and new connections. Síolta aims to build relationships with artists based across Ireland. While we will consider international applications, feasibility and a connection to Ireland needs to be clearly demonstrated.
We accept applications from all genres of dance, and from artists at all stages of their career. However, applicants should be working primarily in the field of ground based dance, and track record should be clearly evidenced in the application response. Full-time students are not eligible for this opportunity.
This residency is a unique opportunity for creation and research, empowering artists of all career stages to immerse themselves fully in their artistic processes. We ask selected artists to engage with our vibrant local dance community by sharing their work through informal showings followed by interactive Q&A sessions in our studio. And/or artists will have the chance to interact with the community by hosting morning classes or workshops during their residency.
Galway, known for its rich cultural heritage and dynamic artistic community, provides an inspiring backdrop for the development of new work. Its vibrant atmosphere and diverse influences offer a stimulating environment for creative exploration and collaboration.
