We are pleased to announce that Bernadette Divilly and Linda Schirmer are Galway Dance Artists in Residence for 2024/2025. The residencies are funded and supported by The Arts Council, Áras Éanna Arts Centre and Galway Dance.
Bernadette Divilly was awarded a second year as Arts Council Dance Artist in Residence (DAR) 24/25 at Áras Éanna, Inis Oírr Co. Galway, with support from Galway Dance.
This DAR includes an exhibition in Áras Éanna Arts Centre with collaborator, lens based visual artist Cormac Coyne.
The material of the exhibition evolved on the island of Inis Oírr in collaboration with local community and visiting dance artists. It will include original dance videos and photography, alongside bilingual dance scores and poetry.
Alongside, a series of BeDamhsa dance workshops and events both on Inis Oírr and Galway City will be offered.

Linda Schirmer will develop her dance practice and dedicate time to the creation of new choreographic work exploring the relation of Humus & Humanity. She will also launch an ecologically themed dance program for the community in Connemara and for dancers using the unique environment of Interface in Inagh Valley.
Her community work will consist of dance workshops through a combination of school and playschool visits and on-site visits to Interface i.e. Green Movement Labs. At Interface she will host an Eco Dance Day with dance artists and members of the wider community who share interest in ecological dance & performance art in 2025.
