Earlier this year, Galway Dance hosted two dynamic one-day symposiums — first in Glasgow and then in Galway — under our “IRIS” series. Each event brought together artists, cultural scholars, and community-makers to explore intersections of dance, heritage and performance. We are pleased to now make the videos available for you to watch and revisit.
🎥 Highlights include:
- “IRIS Glasgow – ARTIST Q & A”: A lively discussion featuring Glasgow-based and visiting artists engaging with the theme of embodied practice. Watch
- “IRIS Glasgow – Panel Discussion: Folk Folx”: Hosted by Seona McClintock with Evie Waddell & Jen Wren, exploring folk and traditional forms in contemporary contexts. Watch
- “IRIS Galway – Guest Speaker Zoe Munn”: A talk from Zoe Munn in Galway on heritage, choreography and site-specific thinking. Watch
- “IRIS Galway – Osian Meilir & the Group”: Live presentation and discussion on legacy, movement and cross-cultural exchange. Watch
All the videos are available here from our YouTube channel.
Our symposiums were made possible thanks to the support of the Arts Council of Ireland’s International Residency Initiative Scheme, and were presented with partners Glasgow Life and Theatre Gu Leòr.
